it said 2 years fixed life ! does that mean that it doesn't need to be bumped or calibrated during that period ?

The BW Icon needs to be bump tested daily and calibrated every 6 months. The battery will automatically expire after 2 years of fixed life, but the detector still needs to be tested and calibrated as frequently as other gas detectors.
